I wonder if anyone has worked at an ADHC (Adult Day Health Care) and cananswer a few questions for me.
I was offered a job as full-time socialworker but with no benefits. No vacation, no sick leave, no healthinsurance.
I understand that ADHCs require a social worker on staff, and on site. Giventheir small size they typically only have one social worker.
How do theydeal with vacation coverage? Do they make a different full-time staff person'acting social worker' or do they bring in a temp?
I plan to negotiate for higher pay (to allow me to buy my own healthinsurance) and 10 days unpaid vacation - but I need to offer a solution forvacation coverage because this small agency hasn't previously had a way todeal with 'core staff' taking time off.
The job is in San Diego, California. Please email me offlist at margaretmsw@ gmail.com ASAP if you have an answer!Sincerely,Margaret SheridanUniversity of Southern California School of Social Work, MSW 2009
